About Us
Renovated in 2023, the Bittescombe Inn saw the much-loved local pub, which has served the local community for over a century, restored to its former glory. Originally a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century, the Inn has a food offering based on produce from the Bittescombe Estate and other local suppliers.

The kitchen is led by Olivier Certain, French, yet really a local Exmoor boy having worked for over 20 years in the South West's top gastro pubs. The Inn has five en-suite, cosy, bedrooms each with their own distinct character. The team has reimagined the "local humble country" pub as an inn of which Upton and Somerset can be proud.

Decorated chef Olivier grew up in Marseille, an area of classic French cooking and moved to Exmoor over 20 years ago. He works tirelessly creating seasonal menus and inventing unique dishes. Olivier has worked in some of the South West's top Gastro Pubs and now has his own restaurant that brings together his talent, and unique cuisine, with truly local produce.
